A Welcome and an Announcement

Hey everyone. This is LuckySevenDX and welcome to my new blog.

Why did I make a blog you ask? Well I have two reasons for that. One is that I'd enjoy having a place to rant about random things, usually video game related, as I tend to enjoy doing that. More importantly though, I wanted a place to host my SSLP's. For those not into the LP lingo, those are Screenshot Let's Plays, which is, as the name suggests, an LP of screen captures from a game rather than video. This tends to be ideal for RPG types of games or other games that involve a large amount of repetition or a ton of dialogue.

This of course, leads to my first announcement. Coming soon on here will be a SSLP of Pokemon Emerald, for the GameBoy Advance. However, this is not your typical playthrough of the game. Lately, I've been enjoying reading playthroughs of a certain way of playing the game known as "Nuzlocke". These invoke a special set of rules on the game which i'll have to follow. The rules i'll be using are:

-All Pokemon will be nicknamed (helps build attachment ^^).
-If any Pokemon faints, it is considered "dead" it cannot ever be used again. I'll be placing "dead" Pokemon in a box labelled "PokeHvn", the Pokemon Heaven.
-I can only catch the first Pokemon i find in a given area, and only that Pokemon. This means if the Pokemon is killed or in any other way not caught, I cannot get a Pokemon for that area. The exception is if the first Pokemon is a Pokemon I currently have caught that is not yet dead (so no duplicates).
-For added difficulty, the game will be played with the option on that prevents me from switching Pokemon after defeating a trainer's Pokemon. In other words, in order to switch in-battle, I'll have to risk letting the opponent attack.
-No legendaries, no breeding, no trading.

Needless to say, this is going to end up being a very cautious run, although for added drama I'll not be excessive level-grinding either, so it will be more strategic than just brute force. Also, since dead Pokemon cannot be in my party and because I cannot catch other Pokemon outside of the first per area, this means there are a few ways to fully fail the run. If I lose all Pokemon, I obviously fail. Also, if I cannot progress due to not being able to use a HM, I also fail. This will make the game a bit more interesting as before, and it might even be a bit of an emotional ride when "deaths" occur. I hope you let yourself go along for the ride ^^

I already have quite a few parts screen captured, so they'll be going up as I finish them, and then I'll be updating this with one or two parts on the weekend when I'm not posting any Oracle of Seasons videos.
By the way, in case you didn't get here from my Youtube LP page, here it is:
Go there for some hopefully awesome video LP's!

Enjoy ^^
